It&#8217;s a shame though that a possibly fantastic deathcam shot will be obscured by your killer&#8217;s name, their weapon, their weapon&#8217;s stats, their hats, if they are your nemesis, and\/or your labeled gibs. Wouldn&#8217;t it be nice to just get a clean screenshot?<\/p>\n<p>Well, you can.<\/p>\n<p>These resource files were originally found by Domino on a forum thread that is now locked to the public &#8211; they remove the Valve-created GUI boxes that obscure a deathcam. It will <em>not<\/em> work, however, on any server overlayed elements, e.g. &#8220;Respawning in x seconds,&#8221; advertisements, or HLStats.<\/p>\n<p>Instructions:<br \/>\n1. Download the cleanscreen files <a href=\"http:\/\/thegeekescape.com\/download\/teamfortress2\/CleanScreenShots.zip\">here<\/a>.<br \/>\n2. Decide which options you want to use:<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<ul class=\"list4\">\n<li>Choose <strong>one<\/strong> of these two files. If you decide on the second file, you will have to rename it to FreezePanel_Basic.res.\n<ul class=\"list4\">\n<li>FreezePanel_Basic.res &#8211; Removes who you were killed by and their weapon or hat. You will not be able to see their health as it is associated with their name.<\/li>\n<li>NoWeapon_FreezePanel_Basic.res &#8211; Removes only the weapon or hat your killer has equipped. You will still be able to see their health.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>FreezePanelCallout.res &#8211; Removes your gib labels.<\/li>\n<li>StatPanel_Base.res &#8211; Removes the &#8220;On the bright side&#8230;&#8221; box which pops up when you get close to or beat a personal record.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>3. Copy the files into your &#8220;team fortress 2\\tf\\resource\\ui&#8221; folder.
