Sorry, a learning -what?

[youtube id=”WZgcrVQa6HM” align=”center”]We’ve been playing a lot of Saint’s Row: The Third lately and it’s been a lot more fun that I thought it would be. The game doesn’t take itself seriously and is filled with tons of over-the-top action and crude humor: it’s Grand Theft Auto as imagined by a twelve year old boy.

At first, it seemed to have all the makings of a bad console port, with menus still suffering from large, blocky fonts and awkward navigation. Once in the game proper though, movement, targeting, and (much to my surprise) multiplayer works very well.

This short clip demonstrates how silly even character creation can be, à la the Venture Brothers meeting H.G. Wells in a swimsuit contest.
