With less than two weeks left until the the release of Brink, Bethesda has filled out even more of the facts with the following videos, including class descriptions for the Medic, Soldier, Operative and Engineer. They also go over the different objectives and how body types affect movement. If you are looking forward to Brink, definitely check out these videos.
Brink, the first person shooter developed by Splash Damage, released a new gameplay video during E3. But along with this video, we were told that the game would be delayed to sometime next year. This would be the second big delay for the title originally slated for a spring 2010 release but bumped back to the fall of 2010. This delay generates some doubt for the title – games that get delayed multiple times seem to end up with scores lower than expected.
Another Brink video came out during GDC and it really feels like Splash Damage is taking a stab a Team Fortress 2. In this video, you can see the Scout, Demo, Soldier, Heavy Weapons Guy, Sniper, and Spy – at a stretch, you can say the molotov throwing guy is the Pyro. So that leaves just the Medic, having already seen the Engineer in the previous videos. Following though, is an interview with Richard Hamis, Creative Director for Brink talking about a medic class.
I wasn’t impressed with the art style of Brink originally, but it’s growing on me. To let you judge for yourself, I’ve gathered five videos showing many aspects of the game. It’s being called a mix of Mirror’s Edge and Team Fortress 2 with a touch of Killzone added in. While I can’t vouch for the Killzone, I can definitely see the Mirror’s Edge and Team Fortress 2 elements.
